Meet Jonathan Ghikas

Jonathan Gregory Ghikas

I was born and raised in Morogoro, Tanzania — a town that sits on the edge of some of the most extraordinary wilderness on the African continent. Growing up here, nature was never a destination. It was simply home.

My formal journey into wildlife began at the University of Dar es Salaam, where I earned a BSc in Wildlife Science and Conservation. I trained at Tarangire National Park — bird identification surveys, large mammal counts, vegetation sampling, community conservation work.

Since February 2024, I have been working as a tour guide at Mikumi National Park. Ghikas Adventures grew out of everything I had learned — to guide people through Tanzania the way a scientist reads the bush.
